#91. orange peel FUN.

Before walking to the dome for the SU Basketball game tonight,  I grabbed an orange. Well, when I was done peeling the orange, I had the bright idea to not throw away the peel, and instead bring it to the game and wave it around as I cheer GO ORANGE. (Get it? "Go ORANGE")
So we get to the dome, I wave my orange peel around & cheer, Amanda and I discuss how we are all going to start bring orange peels to every single game, and then all of a sudden my orange peel became our photo prop!

Ladies & Gentleman, meet our orange mustaches:

(And a beard..)

Sarah get's credit for these two photos..
 Cheering with the peel...

And we won.
I'm convinced that it was partial to my orange peel cheering skills.
SU Basketball: 7-0.

PS- If you're on the fence about getting season tickets... look how much FUN we have at the games. Don't miss out, join us!

#90. two photos

These two photos are not related in anyway, but because I actually had the time to take both of them at separate points of my day.. I'm going to post them. Enjoy!

If I were an artsy fartsy person, I would analyze this photo and tell you that it represents how Syracuse is in it's go between stage of all and winter. The pine needles represents Winter trying to peak it's way in.. but the abundance of fall leave won't completely let it.
But since I'm not that person.. you can just ignore me, and look at the photo.

I know, I've posted a few pictures of bicycles already on this blog. But I'm  kind of in love with this bike. The  teal color AND a basket? Perfect.

Random Thoughts:
  • Do you ever hear a song for the "first time" & love it.. only to realize that you've already heard that song before, but just have never known the title.  That happened to me with Daylight by Matt & Kim. Great song. And the music video is pretty awesome.
  • Pandora, one of the many reasons why I love you is because you are the one that introduces those "I've heard this before, but never known the title" types of songs to me.
  • I am the sole reason why I become tired of a song. I blame the radio.. but really its because when I REALLY like a song, I play it over and over again. Remember when I mentioned how much in love I was with Glee's Umbrella/Singin in the Rain. Yeah well after playing it 15 times in a row... I'm kind of done with it for right now.
  • Music is a big part of my homework doing.. so whenever these "random thoughts" I post are all  about music.. its probably because I'm homework-ing it. (Right now, I'm at the library working on a 10 page paper)

#88. nyc over thanksgiving break

Spent the day in the city with Dulci (whom I havent seen in FIVE Months), Aida, the rest of the Stuk family, and Euna!

I know I was really bad at uploading photos to this blog over thanksgiving break. To make up for, enjoy 12 photos from the day:

 Greenwich Village

Some guys playing hackey sack

I kind of really love taking photos of strangers. And check out the hackey sack guy in the background.

Stopped by at a vintage store

Fact: I WILL paint my future room like this.

Dulci & Aida

 Typical

We saw this guy selling framed photos of someone's hands in a heart shape. So I decided to take my own for free..

Euna, you're the best.

Chinatown..

Slightly soft focus.. but I just love this picture.

 And a bonus:
 Love you Dulci!

#87. mshaw

Today was a day of shopping. Went to Midnight Madness at the outlet mall with friends. And then went to a regular mall with Michelle (mshaw) during the day. My camera was dead while we were shopping.. so Michelle and I came home and did an impromptu silly photoshoot instead.
We decided to do it outside on my balcony (just cause). It was 10pm.. so my flash was kind of necessary.

Here's a couple...

She wanted to show off her new ring..

Here's one random thought for you:
I've been super behind on Glee.. so I know I'm kind of late with this.. but I would just like to let everyone know how in love I am with their Umbrella/Singin' in the Rain mashup. I've literally listened to the song 15 times in a row just now (not kidding), and I secretly want to reenact the dance they do... water on the floor and all. Also...Glee's music has just been rocking my socks off lately... Teenage Dream Teenage Dream & Forget You. Love Them! Umbrella/Singin' in the Rain.

#86. thankful

It seemed like everyone and their mom tweeted or facebook status-ed (yes I made that a verb) about what they were thankful for today. And I'll be completely honest you.. when I tried to think of a few things, I drew a complete blank. No, not because I have nothing to be thankful for.. but because I SO easily focus on all the "bad" in my life, and let those things completely cover up the "good."
As I read my bible & journaled in tears this morning (hmm, I'm being pretty honest with you guys here), I was led to this verse. "Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge (know) him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.”- Hosea 6:3 This is the number one thing I am thankful for. The promise in this verse. The promise that as I continue to seek & know more about the Lord, he will become more and more real in my life. This is the promise I'm holding on to.

My rough morning, turned into a good day (answer to prayer) as I went off to my Uncle Patrick's house for Thanksgiving dinner.

Food & Family.
(My grandma hugging my cousin)

I'm also super thankful for my friends, my family, and discount shopping (I saved CRAZY amounts of money during Midnight Madness & Black Friday shopping this year.)
Hope everyone was able to count their blessings today!

And a bonus picture for ya:

#84. violin

Meet my violin. I never named him, but I've just now decided to start calling him Henry. I started playing the violin in 4th grade and stopped in 12th grade. So if you do the math, that is NINE whole years. And then I graduated highschool..and haven't really touched it since.

I had a busy day in Syracuse and no time to take my camera out.. so when I arrived home at 11:30pm, I decided to take this picture and share the above  story with you all.
I'll be honest, it makes me sad that I don't play anymore.. I really enjoyed it. Here's my promise to you blog reader, before I graduate.. I will start playing again.

oh, ps- I AM HOME!
HELLO Thanksgiving break.

#83. joy

I'm in the process of spring cleaning my room. (Yes, I still call it spring cleaning.. even though it is clearly not spring).
And once I'm done this will be one of the many Christmas decorations in my room.

Random thoughts:
- Choice of song while I clean= Shut up and Let me Go by the Ting Tings. Yeah, I may be doing a little bit more dancing than I am cleaning right now..
- My mom's nickname is "Joy". Her real name is Faith. Imani means "Faith" in both Arabic and Swahili. So my mom and I have the same name in three different languages.. sort of.
-  HAPPY 19th BIRTHDAY TO MY LITTLE SISTER
- Home for Thanksgiving break tomorrow!!!
