Had coffee with Amanda tonight.
First time at 2nd Story Books, and I'm a fan!
Random Thoughts:
- Florence & The Machine is simply amazing.
-"It is a safe thing to trust Him to fulfill the desire which He creates"- Amy Carmichael....
A-frieakin-men....But I'll let you in on a little secret of my life. It is so amazingly hard to trust God in this period of praying/applying/waiting to find out what my life will look like come May 16th (the day after graduation). Obviously I'm going to try, but how awesome would it be if God slipped a note in every senior's mailbox that explained what exactly they should do post graduation?

Today was a day of shopping. Went to Midnight Madness at the outlet mall with friends. And then went to a regular mall with Michelle (mshaw) during the day. My camera was dead while we were shopping.. so Michelle and I came home and did an impromptu silly photoshoot instead.
We decided to do it outside on my balcony (just cause). It was 10pm.. so my flash was kind of necessary.
Here's a couple...
Here's one random thought for you:
I've been super behind on Glee.. so I know I'm kind of late with this.. but I would just like to let everyone know how in love I am with their Umbrella/Singin' in the Rain mashup. I've literally listened to the song 15 times in a row just now (not kidding), and I secretly want to reenact the dance they do... water on the floor and all. Also...Glee's music has just been rocking my socks off lately... Teenage Dream Teenage Dream & Forget You. Love Them! Umbrella/Singin' in the Rain.

#83. joy
I'm in the process of spring cleaning my room. (Yes, I still call it spring cleaning.. even though it is clearly not spring).
And once I'm done this will be one of the many Christmas decorations in my room.
Random thoughts:
- Choice of song while I clean= Shut up and Let me Go by the Ting Tings. Yeah, I may be doing a little bit more dancing than I am cleaning right now..
- My mom's nickname is "Joy". Her real name is Faith. Imani means "Faith" in both Arabic and Swahili. So my mom and I have the same name in three different languages.. sort of.
- HAPPY 19th BIRTHDAY TO MY LITTLE SISTER
- Home for Thanksgiving break tomorrow!!!

#78. turkey hand
Why yes, I did revert back to 3rd grade when I traced my hand in order to draw this turkey.
Sometimes I draw fun pictures in my planner.. you know, just to spice things up.
FIVE days until I'm home for Thanksgiving.
I'm tired & I'm feeling rather chatty. Enjoy two long random thoughts:
- I'm currently listening to "belting music." What's belting music? It's the music that makes you want to sing on the top of your lungs, put up your fake microphone and pretend like you're performing for an audience of people. Unfortunately I can't do ANY of that right now because I'm working in one of the study rooms in Newhouse. Dreamgirls soundtrack, you and I have a belting date as SOON as I step foot in my room.
- Harry Potter 7 (part one) comes Friday at midnight. Want to know a secret? I only read Harry Potter 1-5. No, not because I didn't like the series.. in fact, I enjoyed them alot! But when book 6 came out.. senior year happened, aka college essays, SATs, scholarship essays, etc. etc. And then college happened.. and we all know reading for pleasure in college doesnt really exist. I think I'll catch up on the rest of the series over Winter Break, that way I can actually watch the 6th & 7th (part 1) movies. (Because I refuse to watch them without reading the books)

#77. the raindrops keep falling on my head..
It started out as a beautiful day, and then it decided to pour.
Dear clouds, don't you know it is not okay to pour out water when I don't have my umbrella/rain boots?
(Couldn't decide between these two pictures.. so here's both)
You know the drill.. (random thoughts)
- Do you ever know a song, but not really know where it comes from/who sings it? The song I referenced in my title is definitely one of those for me. But no more, B.J. Thomas thanks for a great song
- Call me an old lady, but I cannot WAIT until Thanksgiving/Christmas Break when I will finally be able to read for pleasure. Any good book suggestions?
- Currently listening to John Mayer's "Where the Light Is: Live in Los Angeles" album via grooveshark, as I do my homework. J.Mayer, I still think you have a pretty awful personality, but I can listen to this album days on end.
- I miss Boy Meets World

-Just got the In the Heights Soundtrack! I am in LOVE with this musical.
- I remembered to take my vitamins today (rare occurrence)
- I'm weeks and weeks behind on my favorite shows. Thanksgiving break come quicker.
- Speaking of Turkey Day.. next week will be a FULL year since I have had a cold. I am in shock.
- Oh did I mention, Thanksgiving (aka home for FIVE days) is next week?!
- "Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life?" Amen.

If I were...
- If I were a season, I’d be autumn
- If I were a love song, I'd be "At Last" by Etta James.
- If I were a candy, I'd be gummi bears!
- If I were a state, I’d be CALIFORNIA, baby.
- If I were a book of the bible, I'd be the Psalms.
- If I were a food, I’d be tart frozen yogurt (Pinkberry style)
- If I were a day, I’d be Sunday.
- If I were my dream job, I´d be a photographer/missionary/wife/mother.
- If I were a letter I’d be an "I." (duh!)
- If I were a 16 year old pop star, I'd be Justin Bieber.
- If I were a drink, I’d be mango green bubble tea. (I'd actually be any kind of tea)
- If I were the bible verse that described my current life, I'd be 2 Corinthians 4:18. ("So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.")
- If I were the bible verse that described my future life..aka my senior year of college, I´d be Psalm 139:16 ("your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.")
- If I were an article of clothing, I'd be a scarf or a summer dress.
- If I were in a TV show, I'd be in Glee.
- If I were a piece of furniture, I´d be a hammock.
- If I were a mall in the store and could therefore get anything I want for FREE, I´d be Teavana or H&M.
- If I were an accent, I´d be an Australian one
- If I were a specific time, I´d be June-August 2008 when I was on Santa Monica Summer Project. Best summer of my life.
- If I were a cupcake, I´d be a red velvet cupcake.
- If I were a Food Network program, I´d be Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives
- If I were a pasttime, I´d be this little "if I were game" right here. It was fun.. maybe I´ll do it again.
(PS- This was orginally supposed to be posted in May)

Random Things On My Mind ( yet again)
I know, I know. I haven´t blogged about Ecuador in forever. I dont have time to right now.. but I promise I´ll update on all the fun things we´ve been up to in the past two weeks, what God´s been showing me through my "moodiness," and how work has been. Plus I´m hopefully going on an exciting 4 day trip this weekend.. so there´s that too! Until then, enjoy my randomness.
#1 I´m thinking of starting a 365 photo project when I get back from Ecuador. (Click here for a definition or see Steph's for a great example. As I was thinking about this... I came up with a few ideas/concerns. ·First Concern- if I start a 365 project when I get back.. that will bring me into August or September of next year. Meaning after graduation. Meaning I just MIGHT be starting my adventures in a different country where I´m not exactly comfortable with bringing out my professional camera in front of people, as yet. (for safety reasons). So how would I get to finish the 365 days? ·Second idea- But how COOL would it be to start a photo project on my 21st birthday.. and document EVERY day of my 21st year?! ·Third idea- Why not just start the 365 day project here in Ecuador? Who cares if I only have my point-and-shoot camera with me.. I can still take nice photos? (hopefully). I dont know... I need some feedback on this one!
#2. Urban Outfitters, I find you WAY too expensive, but I love love love your creativity in products. I want this shower curtain. (in spanish, of course).
#3. I used to love Jason Mraz. I found him hilarious, I went to his concert, and I just generally loved his music. Then I decided to read his blog. He wrote an entry that disgusted me..and since then I admit, Mr. Mraz is no longer my #1 played on iTunes. But today at work I decided to listen to my old favorite artist via youtube and grooveshark. I found this video. One.. I love this song. Two.. I love this music video. Three.. I want to make a video like this about my travels. Hmm. Maybe. Oh and Mr. Mraz is slowly getting played more and more again, I´m forgiving his blog entry. Now on to listening to John Mayer again, after his riducously insulting playboy interview..
