#205. new nailpolish.
I was in such an off mood, I decided to stay in tonight (despite the natural extrovert inside of me screaming to hang out with friends), paint my nails, watch last night's Grey's anatomy, spend some much needed time in the Word..and pretty much just have some quality me time.
SIDENOTE
When amazing artists perform covers of amazing songs, it makes my heart skip a beat.
- Here is John Legend performing Adele's "Rolling in the deep"
Press play, and be amazed

#201. lazy, gray morning
You would think after spending a week in sunny 80 degree weather, that a gray morning would get me down... au contraire! When I woke up this morning and saw it was rainy outside, I took full advantage of it and decided to lazily hit my snooze button way too many times, lazily read a 3 chapters of A Walk To Remember, and lazily not begin to get ready for my 12:45 class until 12:00.
It was great.
- Can't remember the last time I read a full book for pleasure
- Psalm 27:8 (The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.) is the strongest desire for my life right now.
- Someone mentioned the amount of days until graduation to me today, and I wanted to throw up.
- Listened to an episode of This American Life last night while I edited photos. I'm going to start listening to those again, they're just so great.

#200. write one word over & over
While watching the SU game (super disappointing), Steph tried out her new journal during the commercials.

#198. texas barbecue & two-stepping (texas: final day)
This was probably my favorite night in Texas. I didn't take many pictures... because to be honest I was to busy enjoying myself to pick up my camera
First we went to the Salt Lick for dinner, and had the most AMAZING tasting barbecue I've ever had in my entire life. (I've always said I didn't like barbecue before, and now I'm a changed person). THEN we went two-stepping. Sarah, Emily, Adrienne, and I had no clue how to do it, but we learned by the end of the night. AND.. the best part, I two-stepped with a cowboy! As we were dancing he says to me, "Well now you can tell your friends you danced with a cowboy." And trust me, I've told every single one of my friends since then..

No pictures of two stepping (I was too busy dancing!) But here's one picture from Salt Lick (from my point & shoot).
That huge thing is where they cook the meat... amazing.

#197. st. patty's day (texas day 5)
Spent the entire day downtown for St. Patrick's Day!
We saw Brook Fraser perform for FREE (best part of the day)
and walked around alot...
I know this is kind of the same picture as above, but this one I took from my waist (not looking through the view finder)..and I love the way it came out.
And then we saw the Strokes perform (for free as well).. but only stayed for about 3 songs.
Picture of the skyline..

#196. surprise thrift store concert (Texas Day 4)
We went to a thrift store to buy old t-shirts to make these DIY necklaces. And to our plesant surprise they had live music and free food! I'm seriously in love with Texan culture
I loved taking pictures of the crowd.

sorry.
I'm sorry I've been so awful at updating this blog latley.
I swear to you... I am taking many, many pictures per day... but with being with 3 of my closest friends 24/7 in Austin, there is hardly time to sort through pictures everyday and post them to this blog.
I promise I'll update as soon as I can.
(More than likely Saturday or Sunday)

#193. texas day 1
Went thrift store shopping, out to lunch, to Emily's amazing church, and finally ended the night with icecream & Redbox.
Part of a parking structure. Love the colors.
Bonus photo: The icecream place had a photo booth. Sarah and I convinced Adrienne & Emily to do it. Well the booth gave us absolutely zero warning as to when they would take the pictures.. so since we knew the pictures wouldn't come out the best, Sarah and I took our own photobooth photos with my camera.

#192. airplanes/airports
One car ride and two flights later.. I am now sitting on TEXAS soil. Two of my closest friends (Sarah and Adrienne) and myself are visiting another one of our close friends that now goes to grad school in Austin! Bring it on Spring Break 2011, we're ready for ya!
Sunset from the plane
The Atlanta airport had this amazing touch screen tangram game. That kept us occupied for about 20 minutes between our flights.

#188. train ride back
Apparently it snowed enough in Syracuse for them to cancel classes on the Monday I was in the city.
I think the contrast between this picture, and the picture I took on the way to NYC is funny.

#187. famous people.
I'm getting less and less creative with my post titles..
But anyway, Monday night was the night of the annual JRF Awards Dinner, where they do fundraising for the foundation. Bill Cosby hosts, and there are three honorees every year. This year Diddy was one of the honorees, and Russel Simmons introduced him.
We weren't super close, but I took pictures of the screen.

Again, quality isn't great because it was with my p&s (point and shoot.. yeah, I just made that abrev.). I've recently decided though that while I love taking amazing quality, aesthetic, and "beautiful" photos with my slr camera for this blog....sometimes I just want simply to document what's going around me, and if it just so happens that the lighting isn't perfect, or I only have my cell phone/p&s camera... then it is what it is. Just throwing that out there.

#186. fancy dessert
Again, using my point and shoot.. so the quality isn't where I would want it to be. But here's a picture of just some of the great food we got over the weekend.

#185. NYC: JRF style
Day 1 of our Networking Weekend..
(Disclaimer- I only walked around with my point & shoot camera, so these pictures aren't the best quality)
After a day of seminars the seniors headed down to Harlem to eat at this amazing restaurant. There was live music, and he played oldies covers. I was a happy girl.
On the way back we saw this sign in the subway. Only in NYC.

#183. crafting: t-shirt necklace
I stumbled upon this amazing DIY ("do it yourself") project where you make a necklace out of an old t-shirt without having to sew anything. (check out the instructions here). I was so amazed by this I had to try it myself..
I used a shirt that I got at Plato's Closet, and never ended up wearing because I changed my mind about the color. (Sorry I don't have a before picture of the shirt)
The whole thing took me about 20 minutes and I'm SUPER pleased with the way it came out.
I'm going to wear it tomorrow!
I'm headed to NYC tomorrow for the Jackie Robinson Foundation (where I have a scholarship) annual Networking Weekend! I probably won't be able to get to my laptop everyday to upload a picture.. so if I'm a few days late, please forgive me!
